(a) What is meant by heredity?
Ans: Being born with certain features or traits in common with the members of our family is heredity. These are our inherited traits.
(b) What differences do we see between children in preprimary classes and children in Std
V?
Ans: 1) The age of pre-primary school children is between 4 to 6 years while the age of children of standard V is 10 to 11 years.
2) The height of children in std V also increased as compare to children in pre-primary classes.
3) The abilities and skills of pre-primary children are not so much developed as V standard children.
4) Pre-primary children are not physically strong as V standard children.
(c) What changes take place in us from birth till adulthood?
Ans: 1) Many changes take place in us in our body from birth till adulthood. When we take birth, we are infant, our weight is very less.
2) Slowly-slowly growth takes place like teeth come out, body posture changes, height, weight increases, there is growth in hair.
3) Then we turn to childhood. Growth is continued up to certain age. Hormonal changes take place.
4) After some years, we become mature and at the age of 21 we become adult.
(d) Name any three skills you have acquired.
Ans: I have acquired skills like communication, problem solving, leadership etc.
(e) What is meant by physical growth?
Ans: Physical growth refers to an increase in body size and in the size of organs too. It also refers to physical strength and capacity.
