1. Fill in the blanks.

Symptoms- Softening of bones, causing pain and fractures

Symptoms- improper functioning of nerves and heart

Ans: 1) Night blindness: Carrot, milk, butter, dark green vegetables, sweet potatoes, deep yellow fruits and vegetables.
2) Scurvy: Amla, kiwi, oranges. And other citrus fruits, cabbage, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables.
3) Rickets: On exposure to sunlight vitamin D is made in the human body from some substances in milk, fish, eggs ad butter.
4) Beriberi: Milk, fish, meat, cereals, nuts, pulses
(e) Causes of anaemia.
Ans: Anaemia is caused by deficiency of iron and vitamin B12 in the body.
(f) Essential mineral for healthy bones and teeth.
Ans: Calcium and phosphorous
